I have been housesitting for over 7 years.

I have excellent written and easily contactable and verifiable references.

Please note, I'm not inclined to accept house-sits with camera's on the property. Please advise if this is the case if you do contact me. I will be as vigilant with your privacy as I am my own.

I highly value and respect the trust and responsibility that is so important for both parties in a house sitting arrangement, and for you in leaving your home and pets in someone’s care. In fact, one of the motivating factors that keeps me doing housesitting, especially as many of my clients are now repeat or referred clients, is the sense of assurance, ease, confidence and relief many clients have felt with me – and it’s a deciding factor for me if it seems that you can leave mostly without the burden of worry over the house/pets. These rewarding experiences often evolve into lasting friendly and warm relationships.

Something that can be a huge bonus for both parties when a housesit is mutually comfortable is the time and angst saved when you don’t have to vet someone the 2nd or even multiple times around!

I have lived and worked in Canberra since the early 90's.
I'm a busy, quiet, individual, very interested in what's happening domestically and globally.
I suit those wanting a low impact, security conscious person to ensure a well maintained property stays secure and in good order, and with the experience and common sense to address/communicate issues appropriately as they arise and can keep the costs down.

I have a long-term habit of not wearing (outside) shoes inside, using surface protectors and I'm a light and careful user of appliances and energy.

I do contract work to Federal Government in procurement. I find that the now typical part-time work from home arrangements work particularly well to allow for increased property familiarity, extra presence for security and better care for someone's home/pets.

I prefer that animals have they own separate sleeping locations (ie not the bed).

I'm competent, healthy, sensitive, discreet, kind and absolutely respectful - a diligent and prompt communicator should you have any issues while you are away, and I'm proactive on house/pet issues.
