More information about this house sitter

Hi,
My wife and I are fit and active non smoking and social drinkers only and have recently sold out of our farm on the Mid North Coast of NSW. We retired after working as teachers in high schools and higher institutions for the past 40 years so that we would be freer to travel and do farm and house sits like yours.

Over a 20 year period of farm ownership we fully restored the small acreage we purchased, from a weed infested block with no fences into a productive small holding with a range of self designed and built sheds, yards and shelters that have catered for up to 30 goats, hand milkable cattle, 100’s of rare breeds of poultry and all of the associated machinery etc.

Our farm house ended up as a 3br, 3bath and two lounge residence with wide verandahs overlooking all aspects of our property following several renovations that we designed, constructed and commissioned. Having recently sold this farm we now reside in a unit in Tuncurry, NSW, so that we can just lock up and leave at any time.

There are two factors that need to be considered. We travel with a young, well socialised kelpie x desexed female dog ( Bodi) who is very well trained to not worry stock and poultry, and is essentially an outdoor companion dog/pet for us. Secondly, as we do not have a van or camper some onsite accommodations would be ideal.

We are very happy to manage animals like dogs, cats, cattle, horses, sheep, goats and any sort of birds, poultry and fish.

We have extensive bushland regeneration, landscape gardening and veggie patch experience to support any gardens, lawns and plantings that you might have. Happy to maintain all of these and give advice based upon our experience if requested.

Mechanically I have used and maintained a range of pumps, tractors, slashers, ride-on mowers and other machinery as part of our farming activities.

Police Checks and References available.

Over the past years we have used the services of farm and house sitters ourselves and so understand the anxiety and worry of leaving your property and loved animals to the care of unknown others. From our experiences we have found that experienced, caring people and excellent lines of preliminary and ongoing communication can quickly resolve most difficulties before they become more serious.

For the past few years since selling our farm we have completed many house and farm sits looking after a very wide range of animals including cats, dogs, fish, goats, chooks and ducks, horses and cattle. All of these have been wonderful experiences with very positive Reviews and References being posted by owners on a number of online sites like this one.

Looking forward to answering any further questions you might have.

Regards,
Neil and Annette
