More information about this house sitter

We have been doing house and animal sitting for a number of years. We are a young and active couple in our 60s. Both of us have retired.

We own our own house and we are both house proud. We have a large garden and vegetable plot so are not fazed by basic garden maintenance owners would like us to do. Our house is currently rented as we travel . We are very comfortable in rural or more isolated locations as well as urban areas and have been lucky to house-sit in some wonderful spots. We have our own car.

We really enjoy looking after a range of animals and getting to know their many and varied personalities. We made a point of keeping the owners up to date (sometimes daily if requested) on their pets' health, exploits or update on the property.

We have made it a rule to try not to leave pets alone for any extended time and we often split time away from our sit so at least one of us was with the pets, particularly when they got distressed without company or where there was a particular request from the owner.

Most of our house sitting has been with other house sitting sites and we can provide our feedback and references to any perspective home owner who is considering using us. At this point we are in Tasmania. Read more...
