I have recently moved into a retirement village here in Adelaide and thought house/pet sitting might be a way to have a holiday on a budget.
I had thought about house/pet sitting for some years, but never got around to it, mainly because I had a dog myself, English Pointer X. Sadly I had to have her put to sleep in 2022. I still miss her terribly.
My grandson has a Staffy, who I tried walking, but he's a strong boy, a bit strong for me at 40kg, so I had to give that away.
I was attending a gym twice a week until Covid, so now I do my exercises at home.
I work two days a week volunteering as a transport coordinator for an aged care agency, and have been doing this for 18 years, since retiring.
In 1984 my husband and I and our 2 daughters and 2 dogs (spaniel and labrador), left Melbourne with our caravan to travel Australia for a year. We ended up doing this and working managing caravan parks and other odd jobs for 20 years! Finally retiring and buying another home in 2004 in Adelaide.
I enjoy travel, walking, reading, Scrabble, and Wordle and Quordle (sometimes frustrating!) daily.
I have a Police Clearance Certificate and can provide personal references as required. Read more...
