More information about this house sitter

I would first like to introduce myself. I am a 64 year old single male who has recently retired and relocated back to South East Queensland from Sydney. I wish to be closer to my mother (86 years young, lives on the Gold Coast) and my two grandsons (both under 3 years old) who live with my son and his wife in Brisbane. I was originally born and schooled in Ipswich, lived in Brisbane and Cairns for my early adult life and then lived interstate and overseas.

I am currently living my “pet-life” vicariously through others. I really enjoy volunteering for house sits as it gives me great satisfaction and a sense of purpose. The interaction with the vast range of pets is very rewarding.

I commenced house sitting in December 2020 and I had intended to combine with some travel. Unfortunately, COVID intervened so my travel was a bit restricted for a while.

Since then, I have completed over 50 house sits. I have received many 5-star reviews across several online platforms as well as requests for repeat sittings from previous satisfied owners. Apart from online platforms, I have also completed several private (referral) sits. (I can attach references from other services where applicable)

I enjoy pets of all types. Over the years, I have had dogs (mainly English Springer Spaniels) and cats (mainly Himalayans), but also guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, birds and tropical fish. My sits have included a wonderful range of pets.

Prior to my retirement, I was employed as a senior company director at an international company. Apart from a minor stroke in 2016, I am in good health and am focused on remaining active and independent. Apart from spending as much time as possible with my grandsons, the rest of my spare time is spent studying, reading and exploring the areas that I travel to.

I am double (+ 3 booster) COVID vaccinated and am not a smoker. I have a current driver’s license and a new vehicle. I also have completed a National Police Check.
