More information about this house sitter

Hi everyone! Our names are Laura & Fergus. We’re an Irish couple who are making the move to Sydney after living in Newcastle, NSW, and Melbourne over the past 2 years.

Fergus's background is in Environmental Science. He loves all things outdoors, especially surfing.

I, Laura, also enjoy surfing, the outdoors, and meeting new people. My career is in Personal Training.

In-between house sits, we love to go camping and exploring gorgeous Australia. We also love listening to great live music and spending time with our families.

When we first moved to Australia we had the pleasure of taking care of 3 very smart working kelpies and a crazy, loving springer spaniel on a farm out in Cowra, Woodstock, along with cattle, sheep and a few chooks!

We then moved to Newcastle and began house sitting privately pretty much straight away, until we started working for a professional pet sitting and dog walking company called KARE Kanine. I, Laura, along with our house sitting, worked as a dog walker for the company. We absolutely loved it. We both gained a lot of professional experience and training in the industry. We have cared for many different breeds, big and small, old and young, those with behavioral issues or any additional needs. I (Laura) enjoy training dogs and did a lot with the dogs I used to walk. We have cared for over 30 dogs (and counting!) along with, cats, rabbits, reptiles & birds.

We have also been pet sitting since we arrived in Melbourne. We mainly used AussieHouseSitters, hence why no reviews on here just yet. We have attached reviews here from that site, another from a previous client and a reference letter from the manager of Kare Kanine.

It goes without saying that we both absolutely adore animals and feel complete when we have a furry friend with us. Along with our genuine love for our pets, we have a great understanding of the care and responsibility that goes into every pet and house sitting.

A little bit more info - Fergus and I had a rescue Lurcher (greyhound mix) who we fostered back home and we miss him so much! We really like to treat every house sit the way that we would like to be treated if the situation was the other way around. We understand how important our pets are to us.
