More information about this house sitter

Hi, I’m Petrea, experienced house sitter, retired writer and yacht rigger. I’ve cared for acreage properties, farms and suburban houses. Having also owned several of these, I know how important it is to find a reliable and trustworthy house sitter.

Here's a quick summary - please read before contacting me :)

• Practical, experienced and reliable
• Acreage specialist, prefer some space
• I don't look after dogs or cats (except farm cats)
• Usually stay in my van, not your house
• I have a small motor home and a quiet little dog

If you're still interested - I am familiar with gardening, irrigation, ride-on mowers, zero-turns, pumps, gates, fences, dams, pool maintenance, off grid living and water saving. Being a hands-on practical person means I can also trouble shoot and fix issues before they become major.

I've cared for dogs, cats, birds, wildlife and livestock. However, I no longer look after dogs. I can’t give them the attention they deserve because my little fella is uncomfortable sharing me with others. No cats either, except the aloof ones that prefer their own company.

Unless it’s a long house-sit (and maybe even then) I prefer to stay in the van, using only your bathroom and laundry. So I need somewhere level and off-road to park, Telstra reception, and a safe space for Bodi.

Sandra, Whiteside: We were very happy to have Petrea sit for us over the Christmas period. She arrived well in time with her campervan and little dog Bodi. We were more than happy for her to stay in the house, but she was happy to set up her camper on our front lawn and just use the bathroom and laundry. We have a large garden so normally a lot of watering but there were a lot of storms some severe, whilst we were away, so there was not a lot to do, but the plants that were under cover were all looked after. Petrea kept us up to date on the storm situation as some areas were badly damaged but fortunately not us. The house was clean and tidy on return, mail collected and bins out for collection. She left before us but left a lovely thank you card. Would love to have her sit for us again.

Ross and Marlene, Lockyer Valley: Petrea was reliable sitter for us, and looked after the garden and chickens very well. Would recommend Petrea to anyone. Everything was tidy and clean on arrival home, and the house was cool, turned air con on for us when we arrived home on that hot day. We certainly would invite her to come again.
