We are a retired couple travelling now for over 12 years around Australia in our caravans and we do intend to continue travelling for the foreseeable future.

In March 2019 we were invited to do a do a 4 week farm sit in rural Tasmania looking after 34 alpacas, over 40 sheep, 4 cows, an unknown number of free range chickens, 2 large dogs and a cat. As an introduction to house sitting for us we thoroughly enjoyed the adventure and it gave us the opportunity to better explore the area than we may have otherwise.

This gave us the enthusiasm to apply for other house sits. In 2019 we completed another 7 house sits (including 1 repeat) totalling 203 days by the end of 2019. In total we have now completed or have confirmed 38 house / farm sits totalling over 1234 days.

The house sits included twice for one home owner and five house sits for another home owner. We have now house sat in Tasmania, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Since commencing house sitting we have cared for dogs, cats, cows, sheep, chickens, alpacas, horses, gold fish, birds or just gardens. Previous to travelling we have owned dogs, a cat, birds, chickens and cows. As we are long term travelling in our caravan we no longer have any of our own pets with us. We prefer to take our caravan with us when we house sit.

We are reliable, friendly, caring, tidy and non smokers. We take pleasure in meeting new home owners and we have made some long term friends with some of the home owners we have house sat for. We have a number of reviews attached to our MINDAHOME profile for anyone to read.

Before retirement we owned and operated a wholesale plant nursery on the outskirts of Brisbane with our own transport running from Bundaberg to Sydney. We also owned and operated a landscaping business with Geoff, prior retirement, holding a QBCC license for Structural Landscaping (Trade). Previous to this Geoff was in corporate management.

With our back grounds in business, horticulture and trades we enjoy looking after animals, gardens and lawns and carrying out general handyman functions. We have owned a number of chlorine and salt above ground and in ground pools so we are familiar with regular pool maintenance. We lived and operated our wholesale plant nursery totally on tank and dam water so we are also familiar with controlled water usage and the related pressure water pumps and controllers for domestic and irrigation use.
