We are a couple in our early 50s, currently taking a break from the corporate world and looking for a change in lifestyle.
One of our plans is to give back some of the great experiences we’ve had with house sitters over the years and look after other people’s pets, gardens, and homes while they are away. We have used house sitters for many years when travelling and had some wonderful people look after our cats and our garden –so we know how important it is to know your furry family members are in good hands and your garden thrives while you are away - and now it’s time to return the favours!
Julia has had cats for most of her life and has also lived with dogs for many years, including a yearlong house and dog sit while living overseas in her 20s. Since our cat sadly passed away late last year, we’ve been fostering for a pet rescue as we love being around animals. We have also looked after 10+ dogs of various sizes and ages since we started pet and house-sitting and are really enjoying being around them!
We both have 20+ years of corporate careers behind us (for reference, please contact us for links to our LinkedIn profiles), are reliable and have a high sense of responsibility to meet the expectations of the people around us. We love spending time outdoors, with Birger being a trip leader for an Outdoor club and Julia volunteering for a charity enabling people with disabilities to enjoy outdoor activities.
We own our home in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs but are renting it out while we are looking at travelling both in Australia and in Europe. We are happy to do shorter or longer term sits – we see this as an opportunity to see different parts of Sydney and Australia, and to return the favours others have done us by looking after our home.
Being homeowners ourselves who have put a lot of work into making our house a home, we will be looking after yours in the same way, keeping it clean and well maintained.
We’d be happy to look after your pets and gardens – we are very active, so walking dogs will be a pleasure and watering a garden and pulling out weeds is something we actually enjoy.
We are happy to provide references from other housesitting websites as we are relatively new to this one.
