More information about this house sitter

Born and raised in Sydney in the '60s, I spent the past two decades in Siem Reap, Cambodia, loving and raising a large family - of over 100 street kids - with my husband, Rem. After 18 incredibly fulfilling and challenging years running our project - supporting them and their families - we're now embarking on a new adventure with more time and space for ourselves.

We recently purchased a Toyota Coaster motorhome so we could move back to Australia and explore this beautiful country. Even though we are fully contained, we joined Mindahome to connect with - and lend a hand to - those living off the beaten track. In return, we're seeking safe and scenic spots to park our bus, where we can immerse ourselves in authentic experiences, connect with genuine people, and care for their furry, woolly, feathered and scaly family members.

Growing up on a farm outside of Sydney, I rode horses and shared my home with many animals all my life. I love to fix things, make things, declutter and tidy things. Being an Interior Designer in my younger years, I love to design and reorganise spaces of any kind, and I find 'before and after' photos - of almost everything – very satisfying.

My husband is Cambodian; he is quiet and calm by nature. He loves warmer weather and being outdoors ALL the time. He is not a fan of big cities and is intrigued by things many of us take for granted. He appreciates nature and is a keen garden waterer.

Our first Mindahome experience was a memorable success. We enjoyed meeting a wonderful woman, caring for her much-loved animals and tending to her garden on 120 acres in the picturesque Margaret River area... and now look forward to doing many more.

The warmth, mutual trust and respect that comes from staying in someone's home is what we appreciate - and inspires us - most. I've even created an Instagram account, 'inkindliving,' to show the creative and practical ways we’ve reciprocated the warm hospitality we've received.
