More information about this house sitter
Having enjoyed some time away from the farm by engaging housesitters on this site, my husband and I have decided to trial being a housesitter ourselves. At this stage, we are available for short sits of less than two weeks.
NB*please see further down the listing for details on locations where we are available to sit. Due to my husband's work and our own farm, we are currently limited as to where we can help out and during which periods.
We are clean living (non smokers and non-drinkers, although I might have wine on holidays sometimes). We are comfortable around most animals, but are not suited to large dogs or reactive dogs.
We have had featherkids and furkids of our own in the past. We lost our beloved 16-year-old Jack Russell to cancer last year. He was our world and we won't adopt again. We do understand what furry companions mean to people and how hard it is to leave them in the care of strangers, but we can assure you that we are gentle with all animals and they are in safe hands.
We currently have two budgies that will be staying home. We are also experienced with poultry and tropical fish.
As new sitters in the community, we have no reviews as such. We only have a review as host. However, I can provide a screenshot of our airbnb reviews (reviews left by our airbnb hosts).
We are happy to do either town, city or rural sits. We run beef cattle on our farm and come with all the skills required to handle most jobs and most emergencies in that area. We know to shut gates and be calm! I am familiar with some of the basics of horses, but I'm not a confident nor knowledgable horsewoman. Mostly, we know how to behave around horses, can feed them, monitor them, call a vet for anything serious.
We are handy around pumps, farm vehicles, fencing, and some machinery.
For the rest of 2024 and then 2025:
We are open to housesits close to our farm in the Amamoor region. That way, even though we are staying in your house, one of us can duck home daily to check our cattle and feed/water our budgies. My husband works on the Sunshine Coast, so he would continue to drive to work as well.
In April/May 2025 & September 2025: North-east Victoria
We are looking to get away from the farm and holiday in North-east Victoria because my husband loves flyfishing and I love birdwatching, so if you are in the north-east and are looking for a sitter during our dates, please contact me. May also be interested in a houseswap too. Read more...
