Hi, we are Kathleen and Nick. We are happily married non-smoking homeowners who live in Darwin, where my husband was born and raised, together with our three well-behaved sons (15, 12, and 10) who all love animals. I am originally from Cairns and grew up caring for all sorts of native animals as my mother was a wildlife carer. Missy is our fox terrier cross rescue dog which we adopted as a pup in 2019. She does not travel with us.

We are experienced house sitters who travel far and wide and have completed house sits with our children in QLD, NSW, Victoria, Western Australia, and Tasmania, looking after lots of dogs and cats. Nick is a teacher, and I work in the same school as well, so we can house and pet sit interstate during school holidays, and at other times using leave, if required. We are easy to reach and communicate with and provide quick responses to questions and updates, so you will have peace of mind and confidence.

We respect and care for other people's pets, homes, gardens, pools, and cars as if they are our own which can be seen from the amazing reviews and ratings that we have received from homeowners. Leaving homes in immaculate condition and happy pets is very important to us. We enjoy gardening and when we did house sitting in Cairns, Central Coast NSW, and Tasmania we mowed the lawns, weeded the gardens, and ensured the plants were watered (as for all house sits). We take great care of pools, and our children are always actively supervised by us while they are swimming or in the pool area. Whenever we have been provided use of a car, we have cleaned the car, left it with a full tank of fuel, and reimbursed the owners for any road tolls during our use.

As we are practicing Christians we do not drink or smoke and would prefer to care for pets in a non-smoking home as our youngest son has asthma.

Below is a brief outline of some house and pet sits that we have completed over the past 5 years.

• Recently we cared for a male cavoodle (Monty) and a male cat (Tupac) in their two-storey house in Devonport, Tasmania for 10 days in December 2024. Monty was taken for regular walks to the beach.

• Also, we cared for two cats (Obi and Woo-gway) for ten days in their South Perth townhouse in September-October 2024 which we received a glowing review for and an offer to house sit again.

• During the school holidays of December 2023/January 2024 we cared for a female pug (Chelsea) and a male cavoodle (Archie) in their ground level house in NSW while their owners went overseas for 3 weeks. We also cared for a female labrador (Charlie Girl) on the Gold Coast in her house with pool for 9 days, giving her medication and taking her for regular walks.

• The year before in December 2022/January 2023 we cared for two cats (Frankie and Quinlan) and an elderly small dog (Mojo) in their two-storey house with pool in Hervey Bay, QLD for two weeks and house sat a house with pool between Brisbane and the Gold Coast at Bahrs Scrub for eight days.

• Nick took long service for all of Term 4 in 2019, so we spent that summer house and pet sitting two places. First, we looked after our church friends’ house in Cairns for about 4 weeks during October-November 2019. Secondly, we cared for Molly, an energetic kelpie cross labrador and 3 cats in their house for a total of 5 weeks during late November 2019 to early January 2020 while their owners went interstate and then overseas (just before the borders were shut due to COVID). This included daily walks to the dog park and regular trips to the beach for exercise.

We are keen to take our family on more trips to meet new people and their pets and to continue to explore this beautiful country of ours. Nick and I would love to hear from you and can supply great references.
