More information about this house sitter

We are both retired, with a love for the Atherton Tablelands, where we have been living for the last 8 years. Currently, we find ourselves without a permanent place to call home, so we hope that you can help with some House Sitting positions. I'm a retired builder and my hobby is Woodturning. Astrid was born in Sweden, where she worked with Disabled Students. We enjoy meeting new friends and are fond of animals.

Wal and Astrid were Caretakers of our home for a period of 3 years, the large house and associate grounds were always very well looked after and they treated the property, as if it was their own.
We would not hesitate to recommend them to care for your property.

We meet Wal and Astrid through an un-associated ad on Facebook. After a few meetings, we became aware, they were facing a problem with their housing arrangements.
We made some arrangements for them to House Sit for us whilst we were visiting family in WA for a period of 3weeks.
On our return, we found our home to be just as we left it, with the grounds in great shape.
We have offered them a return assignment at Christmas time, while we travel overseas to New Zealand for a period of 3 plus months.

We are Les and Lyn Taylor who, selected Wal and Astrid to House Sit our property and look after 2 Dogs and 1 Cat for a period of 3 months, starting late February 2023.
We were more than satisfied in their ability to keep the house, large grounds plus a beautiful in-ground pool, in excellent condition. We returned from our holidays to our home, to find everything in an immaculate state.

The main reason for having House Sitters is to care for our pets. We returned to 3 extremely happy fur babies.

I would fully recommend Wal and Astrid to House Sit your home. We will be lining up next year for them to return for a second time.

I met Wal and Astrid through the House Sitters site, communication was easy and swift. Everything just seemed to match well when we met. Lovely couple and the timing was perfect for the 3 months I went overseas. I really appreciated the easy communication and promptness of Astrid sending me important mail too. It was such a pleasure coming back to my home…just the way I left it. Clean and tidy just the way I like it. Their appreciation in my home and garden was reflected in how they cared for it. It was wonderful not to be overwhelmed with garden work as it was nicely maintained. I would definitely recommend Wal and Astrid and will have them back if the timing fits ? Unfortunately I don’t have animals anymore and Astrid loves the company of animals. Thank you Sabine Harth.
