More information about this house sitter
We are a retired couple, we traveled and house sat for 6 years with our daughter (30yo and with a complicated disability) and our 14yo Staffy, Naomi is now in fulltime care in Shepparton and Turbo is her companion. We miss having Turbo travel with us so always treat any house sit pet as our own.
When all the Covid lockdowns happened in Vic-NSW we spent 20 months doing volunteer work at a Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Swan Bay near Karuah, Chris run the kitchen and Warwick sourced the food and supplies and maintenance. We moved on April 2022 to 50 km's of Tamworth as caretakers on a property with a homestead, 2 cottages and an Airbnb which we reset each time it was used and restoring a large rundown garden and maintained 2 other properties as well but we finished there June 4th 2023 and back into house sitting.
We packed all of our household into a storage shed when we started our house sitting journey 8 years ago.
We travel in a Mercedes campervan (was a 15 seater bus) that I converted myself.
Chris loves to potter in a garden ( most of Chris's pot plants that were collected over 40 years went to many new homes) and Warwick has always been capable of maintaining property and equipment - used a variety of ride-on mowers, tractors, chainsaw, maintained/cleaned a number of pools. We have done a number of house/pet sits involving up to 3 dogs of varying sizes from sausage dogs to 1yo lab, even a pair of delightful Huskies. Special needs animals have been in our care, one dog had been bitten by a snake day before we got there and at 2 house sits we have cared for horses with special needs and have learnt how to tractor in round bales to cattle.
We have travelled to Alice Springs in July for 6 of the last 9 years and will hopefully next year.
Always looking for housesits that have a variety of animals and long term sits are welcome as well, Tassie could be a problem because of the cost of getting our van there.
