Hi Lovely Folks of Mindahome,

I'm a single Canadian woman in her late 30s who's just finished her PhD from Melbourne. I currently also work as a casual uni instructor and research assistant.

To take a break after the intense years of study and work, I've decided to travel to Perth for a month between mid-late August to mid-late September. During this month, I hope to have some downtime, check out if Perth might be somewhere I'd like to relocate for work, and also explore some employment opportunities in the city.

I have not booked my tickets yet but wanted to see if anyone might be looking for a house/ cat sitter during the above timeframe. I am a genuine animal lover, having worked in the environmental and wildlife conservation sector for almost my whole career.

I am mature, kind, responsible and have plenty of experience house and cat sitting for family and friends around the world. I am very clean and tidy and treat anywhere I live with love and respect, as my own home. I am especially good with cats and can provide references from folks I've housesat for, as well as from previous landlords, estate agents, and my employers at my uni.

I do not drive, so would prefer a housesit close to the beach and public transportation and/or the UWA campus (where I'm hoping to find work).

PS: all my photos are of neighbour's kitties and pups in different places I've lived. These little ones would come to see if I was working/ studying from home for the day, so they could hang out. Often, I didn't know the owners until much later (if at all!). Read more...
