We are a typical couple from Tas (but not related), full of adventure and out to explore a bit beyond our island state along with our trusty companion, Archer (a 2yr old English Springer Spaniel), who is essentially treated as an only child.
With our minimal planning skills we have a rough direction to take our time cruising along the east coast of Aus up as far as Airlie Beach this year then head a bit further south to base somewhere over summer to work. Looking for a longer term base over the summer months near some work, preferably not too far from the coast. Also not too phased if it goes over Christmas and new year period. We will be travelling in our home-fitted ex-ambulance van (Amber) and with our trailer sailer in tow.
Although it sounds luxurious, we really only have the basic set up; essentially just a mattress in the back of the van with a trangia for cooking and no means to shower. Attempting the minimalist lifestyle, but still missing the comforts of our ordinary lives, we find that basing ourselves at a home sit can at least bake ourselves a nice cake or cook up a roast and have a classic satisfying shower rather than a natural water wash (which don’t get me wrong is very enjoyable but sometimes overly refreshing and leaves you crusty with sea salt). We believe it would also be great way to get to know the local area more rather than rushing through towns and only viewing the touristy scene. Besides Archer might also get to meet some new pals. Dog like owners, we are all super easy to get along with and friendly-Archer is easily pleased he seems to just love being chased by another dog.
We live a pretty active outdoorsy lifestyle with interest in mt biking, bike packing, sailing, hiking and surfing. So always interested to hear your recommendations in your area for these activities.

We would be super grateful to have the opportunity to take care of your home and love your dear companions like our own while you are away-it would be a wonderful way to break up our trip while hopefully helping you out.
