About this house sitting position in Baldivis

Looking for a mature, quiet living couple to care for house and animals in a semi-rural bush residential area south of Perth.
Ideal couple have some experience of practical management of a small bush acreage, feel comfortable and enjoy being in the proximity of wildlife, especially kangaroos, possums and birds.
Responsibilities include to feed & care for animals, 1 x domestic - cat - a rescue cat who is a bit anxious about new people, and thunder. Hens: (there are 4) to feed mornings, let out for free ranging lunchtime or late morning , lock up again just before dusk. (To avoid predators such as foxes)
Also, we have some soft release (rescued) wild possums and kangaroos, & some birds, that frequently come for snacks.
There is a swimming pool too that will need maintaining with equipment and any chemicals necessary are provided.
Water is rainwater collected in 90,000L tank, and pumped directly to the house.
There is a reticulation system that may need to be used regularly during your stay as weather, though a bit changeable, can be hot and dry even in December.
Care of our home and creatures is In exchange for accommodation. Must live in.
Our home is set in a quiet semi-rural bush area where all surrounding properties are 5 - 10 acres in size. We are very close (probably closer than we’d like in some respects) to shops and restaurants etc…closest Is Baldivis…next is Rockingham, or Mandurah in the opposite direction. It is because of the wildlife that we don’t have dogs here. Our rescue cat, Teddy, is mostly an indoor cat, and really only goes out for sunbathing or toileting. He is afraid of most of the other animals! Actually sometimes he is afraid of his own shadow! 😂
Most of the visiting kangaroos are part of a small local mob. Many of them have been rescues. Residential developments on either side of our area have meant them losing a lot of their habitat hence we help them out a bit with supplemental feeding.
There is a parking area available for a caravan if needed.
Beaches are not far away - closest is about 10 mins drive.
Serpentine falls, Jarradale and
Perth Hills are all nearby, all with beautiful walks to explore. Read more...
