About this house sitting position in Beaumaris
Hello!
We are looking for house and dog sitters for 3ish days while we take a short break. We fly on Friday morning and return on Monday evening. I envisage that the easiest would be for the house sitters to arrive Thursday evening and leave Tuesday morning.
We will provide a guest room with queen bed and ensuite bathroom and access TV room, entertainment deck and kitchen diner etc.
We have a spacious three bedroom modern home with a small private garden which contains an entertainment deck, BBQ and hot tub.
It really feels a little upside down: the kitchen / diner / lounge room are upstairs and the guest rooms, laundry, and TV area are downstairs. We have a lot of pot plants around the house - they should be fine for the few days we are away.
We are close to a great beach (and dog beach), and very close to a great Thai restaurant, Indian take away and fish and chips! Couldn't be better. We also have a lovely cafe for coffee and breakfasts (and lunch).
Southland shopping centre is a short drive, and Beaumaris Shopping Concourse is 1km away - with cafes and gift shops and a supermarket.
We have two dogs, both rescues, and come with their own little idiosyncrasies.
Charlie, our Borador (Labrador / Border Collie) is 7, we've had him 4 yrs now. He is terrified of missing out on human company, food and games (nickname FOMO). He has to be part of everything going on. He's so very gentle and sweet with humans but can get overwhelmed when dogs play too hard or there are too many yappy dogs around him. Then he can get a little nippy. Charlie loves long walks along the beach but can pull on the lead. He needs someone strong with authority.
Bella, our Jackhuahua (Jack Russell / Chihuahua) is 16, sleeps most of the day in her bed. She loves the sunshine and will lay in it until she cooks. She's doesn't bark much, is deaf and her sight isn't great. She doesn't like Charlie but she puts up with him as he barges in when she's getting some fuss. Bella enjoys a slow sniffy walk around the block.
I envisage that the house- sitters will look after both dogs. Charlie has kibble and a tasty topper - likes sardines. Bella has home-made wet food which she sometimes refuses. I've grown used to not worrying and popping it in the fridge until the next meal time.
Our garden is mostly covered by a timed sprinkler system and needs little maintenance but there are a few tubs and trees that may need attention.
If you enjoy eating out in the garden in September, the covered decking area has a BBQ and the small balcony/verandah upstairs has another!
The Beaumaris / Black Rock suburbs have some great beaches and plenty of beach parking. It's a lovely walk along the beach path - even in winter. Read more...
