About this house sitting position in Blackwall

We live on the beautiful Central Coast, overlooking the Brisbane Waters, just one and a half hours north of Sydney.

My husband Ian and I are travelling to Europe for nine weeks and need a single person or a couple, to look after our newly renovated house.

Our situation is a little different to most, as we have our elderly Aunt living independently, in a granny flat on the ground floor, as well as a tenant in the front flat. Both areas are completely private and self-contained.

We also have an Airbnb right down the back of the property, which we’d like to keep running while we’re away. Check it out on Airbnb if you like. It’s called ‘Scribbly Gum Retreat.’

Please note that your living space is completely private and separate. We have a modern kitchen and a large open plan living area, which opens out onto an expansive back deck. Our living areas are all north facing and open onto lush gardens, with some views out over water. We’ve also recently completed a brand-new master bedroom and luxurious ensuite on the upper level, as well as a large contemporary laundry/craft space downstairs.

We will need to leave our car in the carport while away. We have space for one more car. We don't have space for any other vehicles.

While our house and yard is large, it’s actually very low maintenance. We would like a singe person or a couple to look after the following:

HOUSE
We expect the house to be kept clean and tidy, with strictly no smoking allowed.

GARDENS
We have someone who regularly mows our lawn, and the gardens are all well-established and low maintenance. Half our backyard is mulch, which the chickens love digging in. We usually need to rake over a few holes now and then. The pot plants on the deck need a water now and then to keep everything alive.

CHICKENS
The chickens are fed every morning, but they do love the occasional kitchen scraps. They are let out of their run every afternoon and are free to roam around our yard, until they make their way back home on dusk.
They’re fairly old chickens these days but they’re still laying the occasional egg.

AIRBNB
This is a small cabin, designed only for couples. We have a cleaning lady who cleans the Airbnb after every guest. We will manage the correspondence with guests from overseas.

Ideally, we would like someone who would be willing to wash the sheets and towels after each guest and prepare a basket of clean linen for the cleaning lady. On average, we have guests stay once or twice a week.

Over the last 8 years, we have earned a 4.96-star rating from over 600 reviews. It’s important that we maintain these high standards.

SURROUNDING AREA
Our area is very quiet, with Blackwall Mountain bush reserve behind us.
Everything you need is close by; Woy Woy train station, bus stop, supermarkets, shops, Ettalong cinema complex, Ettalong markets, as well as many restaurants and café’s; all only 5 minutes away. We’re also surrounded by National Parks and many beautiful beaches.
