About this house sitting position in Margate

We live on 5 acres about 15 mins south of Hobart in the lovely D'Entrecasteaux Channel area. We have a few chickens and a reasonably large ornamental and veggie garden. Its a lovely, quiet rural area with beautiful bush views and so easy to access everything that southern Tas has to offer. Our home is a comfy 2 storey, 3 bedroom house (all double or queen) with a wood fire and excellent kitchen as we enjoy cooking. There is also a BBQ and outdoor eating area.
We are a couple (Craig & Ngaire) and we travel a bit for work and to see family interstate. We only need the chickens cared for and depending on rainfall, the garden may need water and a bit of care.
This is a rural area with a short amount of dirt road to our driveway and it’s about 3 k to the nearest shops, so you must have a car to get about.
Also, we are on tank water with an electric pump, so in dry times its extremely important to avoid water overuse. It's a septic system but that has never been any problem at all - you just need to take care with what goes down the drains to avoid causing any issue (NO oils/fats/grease down the sink, NOTHING other than human waste and regular toilet paper down the toilet etc).
Its a lovely place and we welcome house-sitters to stay and enjoy and care for our various animals.
You are also welcome at this stay, as it is Christmas, to host family/friends but request please, no loud music/large groups for the sake of our neighbours and the distress that tends to cause our chickens and the local wildlife. Read more...
