About this house sitting position in North Lakes

We’re looking for a caring and reliable house sitter to enjoy our comfortable home in North Lakes over Christmas and, most importantly, keep our much-loved little crew company while we’re away.

Our home is comfortable and easy to look after, with air conditioning, fans throughout and tiled living areas. You’ll have a queen-size bed and TVs with access to streaming services. If you’re travelling with a small van, there is also room to park it on the front lawn.

🎄 Christmas at our place

Our Christmas lights will be up and running during the sit, adding a bit of extra Christmas atmosphere to your stay. They’re already set up and controlled by timers, so there’s nothing complicated to manage.

🐶🐱 Meet our little family

We have two dogs, two cats and a few easy-care fish.

Our 4-year-old Cocker Spaniel is a bit of a baby and loves his people. He likes to sleep where he can see you and is happiest when he has company and plenty of cuddles.

Our 8-year-old Mini Foxy is also a cuddle lover and enjoys being part of whatever is happening around the house.

Our cats are 3 years old and 6 months old. They’re easy-going and enjoy a pat, cuddle or chat when they come looking for attention. Our kitten is naturally a little more playful and loves having someone spend some time playing with them.

The cats enjoy time both indoors and outside and are safely contained within our cat-fenced property.

We also have a few fish who simply need a little food each day.

🐾 What we’re looking for

Because I work from home, our dogs are used to having someone around during the day most of the time. We’re therefore looking for someone who enjoys spending time at home with their furry companions rather than someone who will regularly be away for long days.

The dogs sleep inside and enjoy a walk each morning and afternoon. Luckily, we have plenty of lovely parklands nearby, so their walks are a nice opportunity to get out and explore the area.

Apart from plenty of cuddles and company, their care is straightforward: feeding everyone, keeping water fresh, cleaning the kitty litter, poop scooping and keeping things tidy after the pets.

🌿 A lovely area to explore

We’re fortunate to have lots of parkland around us for walking the dogs, and you never quite know what you’ll see. We’ve encountered koalas, echidnas, beautiful lizards and plenty of birdlife while out walking.

North Lakes has a large shopping centre with plenty close by, and when you feel like venturing a little further, the beaches and markets at Redcliffe are around a 20-minute drive away, with Bribie Island around 30 minutes away.
