About this house sitting position in Ravenshoe
We are seniors. living in a high set (at front - ground level with ramp at back) Bali style home, big verandahs and decks; large glass stacker doors look out across ridges to the wind turbines in the distance. 2 bedrooms both with large TV's, lounge/dining also with large TV. Open plan, this architect designed home has no hallways, but lots of windows to catch every breeze in summer and combustion stove in lounge room for winter. Aircon in main bedroom. Each bedroom has its own en-suite. Separate owners' quarters in second building. Main building has two verandahs 13 metres by 3 metres each. Between the two buildings is a new deck about 10 metres by 2 metres. On 3 acres. Quiet location about ten minutes from Ravenshoe township. We have an 8 month old German Shepherd pup who is excitable and lovable. Not aggressive at all but is a big dog and needs to be kept in check or he'll knock you over with his love! GSDs are renowned for being clumsy. We also have chickens (which the pup must be kept away from as he wants to play but they don't - if they run he will chase them. If they just stop he walks away!) They can remain in their pens, or some can free-range during the day if preferred. Feeding and watering takes about 1 to 1-1/2 hours each morning, and ten minutes to close up at night. Numbers vary but currently there are about 40 but about 23 are in their own cages for breeding purposes. Lots of lovely fresh eggs for your breakfast. Six geese roam the property at will; 5 Indian runner ducks have an enclosure but like to be let out during the day. There are a few hanging pots on one of the verandahs and a daily water would be appreciated by the plants and us! We wish to travel overseas for a little over a month from early May to early June. There are an amazing number of great places to visit in the area - waterfalls, walking trails etc. Photos are a small selection. There are several different chook pens and currently with the drought there's very little grass. We'd love to hear from you. Read more...
