About this house sitting position in Springfield Lakes

We are looking for a house sitter to look after our dog Skye (collie) and cat Cleo, as well as keep the house plants alive while we are away for 6 weeks in September/October (1st of September to the 10th of October). We have a friend who can take care of the dates from the 4th to the 10th of October if 6 weeks is too long, or we're happy for the full 6 weeks with one sitter if that works out better for you.

Our cat Cleo is a strictly indoor cat that loves cuddles and is highly affectionate. Our dog Skye will need some form of daily exercise (can be a walk or playtime in our backyard with fetch- she prefers fetch). She is also very affectionate and loves getting pats. She is also a very chilled out dog if you want to take her with you to a cafe for brunch or the markets on a weekend.

Our house is in the suburbs at Springfield Lakes, an 8-minute drive to the main shopping centre, 2 minutes to the local IGA and bakery, plenty of greenery and parks and a nice lake to walk around. The property is 600m to the train station that goes directly into the city. It is a small 2 bed, 1 bath and there will be room to park a car for the duration of the stay. There will also be very minimal garden maintenance. We are at the end of a cul-de-sac, so our property is nice and peaceful, with a large backyard where we get plenty of birds in the gum trees and grevillias around our area.

We have a tv that has all the streaming platforms (Netflix, Stan, Disney and Binge). We also have a large collection of books, an electric piano to play and many puzzles to keep you busy. We're also less than an hour's drive to the beautiful Scenic Rim, which has multitudes of hiking trails with beautiful views and lookouts. Half of our garage also has a home gym if you're a workout-at-home person. We have a full weight rack with barbell/cable machine/bench press seat and a treadmill. We're also close to the popular Brookwater Golf and Country Club.

Ideally, we're looking for a person/couple who can be home most of the time, as my husband and I work from home, and the pets are used to having bodies around most of the day, but this isn't a strict requirement for the right fit. Read more...
