About this house sitting position in Yarrambat

Hi there,

My partner and I would like to travel to Brisbane to visit a sick relative in the June school holidays. We have a spacious single floor home on 6.5 acres, with 4 bedrooms (only 2 beds - a king and queen). Great verandah space where you can enjoy the garden and orchard. There is an open fireplace and a reverse cycle heater/cooler. Unfortunately, there is no dishwasher or washing machine.

Bus stop located next door and opposite can take you to several major shopping areas and train stations. One cafe about 100 m away, otherwise about 5 km away in Diamond Creek, Wattle Glen, Hurstbridge or South Morang and Doreen). Use of a car (if needed). Plenty of parking space and a double carport with extra depth, power and lighting.

The stay would suit an experienced and confident horse person / group. There are 3 horses that access paddocks with shelters and water troughs (not autofill but are situated to catch the rain from shelters). and also lawn areas around the house and fruit trees.

They will require a feed of hay morning and evening and hard feed with supplements in the evening, as well as the water trough being checked daily and cleaned weekly or as needed. The horses will need rugs put on and off. There are times in an emergency or for general care or moving to another paddock when they may need to be caught and handled. Daily cleaning of paddocks of horse manure is usually needed.

The horses are rescue horses who experienced severe neglect and we have had them for 1-3 years. They are generally curious, friendly and well-mannered but none of them are for riding. They are all geldings, including 16.3 and 15.3 hand thoroughbreds (age 18 and 15 years), and 14 -year-old 14.3 hand Arab/QH cross. They share the paddock together.
