More information about this house sitter

We are a professional couple in our early 40's relocating to Australia as Permanent Residents. I (Julia) am a qualified Social Worker and Psychologist, commencing a new job on the Gold Coast as a Behavioural Support Practitioner working with clients with complex neurodiversity. My husband (Steve) is a Senior Manager in Social Care.

We both have experience looking after animals, after working in the U.K. as foster carers for animal rescue charities. We have both grown up with, and always owned a range of animals, including Dogs, Cats, Hamsters, Guinea Pigs and Rabbits.

We are looking to buy a house in Australia when we arrive, and would love to use this opportunity to do some house sitting while we look for a property to purchase and wait for the house sale to go through. (We will also be opening our own doggy daycare and dog boarding business long term). We are both non smokers.

We are available from 22 July until December 2022, and would prefer bookings for 1 month +, to avoid too much moving around. We are happy to have a chat via Zoom, Teams or Skype to answer any questions you may have, and to meet us face-to-face before arrival.

If you like us, and we accept your booking, you can be 100% guaranteed of our commitment, as we will not book any accommodation for any dates we confirm as house-sitting with you. In return, we would appreciate the same commitment, with no last minute cancellations unless unavoidable - as otherwise we may end up in the GC with no accommodation secured!

We genuinely love animals. I have medical training (previously trained as a Midwife), so if your pet has any medical needs, prescribed medication regimes or requirements for injections, you can be assured that they will be well-cared for by competent people. We are also happy to walk any dogs twice a day, and spend time playing with them with lots of love and cuddles as if they were our own!

We both work full time, but are based working from home (Wifi would be required!), so your pet won't be left unattended during the day or night. I have to go out to visit clients, but Stephen would be home full-time and all my admin in-between visits would be done from home.

We will have our own car, so any requirements to take your pet to daycare or to the vets etc would be accommodated. We are extremely house-proud, so you can be assured that your home would be left exactly as we found it. Happy to do any required housework, cleaning, gardening etc during our stay.
