Kelvin and I are what you call empty nesters, our two sons 31 years and 27 are very independent of us. We often take care of our two gorgeous Grandsons Liam 9 and Chandler 7 mostly in school holiday time. I have volunteered once a week within my own Church supporting young parents with children in playgroup. I have stepped down from this for a bit. Once a month I was also a Volunteer with a group in Gisborne called the safari Club. taking under 15's and over 15's on a outing once a month on the Saturday giving the family time for respite with other family members or just so they can have some respite themselves whilst we have participants on outings. Unfortunaltley the funding has ceased and this ran its course. I had been nominated Team Leader which gave me much responsibility to co-ordinate the running of the day. I 'm not looking for paid work as I would like to make myself available to care for our Grandsons whilst they are fairly young over the school holidays. We have had 2 Germans Shepherds over our married life and now we have a 12 year old Jack Russell Lily, she is the delight of my heart, with back problems we are grateful for every year we have her. We also have adopted my Sons Jack Russell Maggie, she recentley became a Delta Theraphy dog and we visit a aged care facilty once a week on a Friday. Both dogs are allowed inside and would stay inside if given them the choice, but if a sunny day they are booted to the back deck to follow the sun and do a poor job of chasing the birds away. They will both cuddle on our laps. When caring for your pets, I will totally respect all your boundaries you set for them. I'm looking at pet sitting just by myself, I often may take myself away for a few days. By chance I had spoken to a couple asking directions in our town and we got speaking about house sitting to which they were doing, they said they are house sat many and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am also going to volunteer with the elderly in the Macedon Ranges helping with meal assists and visiting, and driving clients to their medical appointments. I completed some training for the VCC Victorian Council of Churches, this is for in times of need of crisis , eg: bush fires, floods, I do have a current working with Childrens check. I do also have a current Police check . My Husband ( a Serving Police Officer) may at some stage come and house sit, we would very much appreciate staying some where together and having the house sitting as part of a holiday, we of course would have to arrange with out own Dog Sitters here in Sunbury if they can take care of our pooches.
