More information about this house sitter

My name is Lewie and I am a 55 year old writer, artist and teacher. I am currently at work on my fifth book and although I have a permanent abode in Mullumbimby in Northern NSW, I find that an occasional change of setting of house can inspire and freshly motivate me.

I left Australia when I was ten with my family and moved to live in Japan for ten years. It was an interesting childhood (and the subject of an upcoming book) and gave me a sense of adventure and adaptability. I have also lived in the US a few times and house minded there in 2000 and 2009.

I am an easy going, active and friendly bloke (having worked in the entertainment, eductation, hospitality and TV industries over the years), but I also value serenity and solitude - especially when working on a writing project.

I love the beach and I walk and swim every day, all year round. I have always had dogs and cats (and chickens and horses) in my life and relate to animals very naturally and closely.

I am a non-smoker and do not drink. I do like coffee, though - I still write poetry in cafes sometimes. A romantic at heart, I was married, long ago, and have had a few long-term relationships since, but for now I enjoy being single.

I mentor teenagers in art and writing and volunteer at local cultural events in and around Mullumbimby. I'm at the stage of my life where it's all about giving back and sharing.

I have house minded a dozen or so times over the past few decades and can supply references and phone numbers of those who will happily chat with you if you wish. I live simply, uncluttered, and I am conscientious and practical by nature. I will have great respect for your home, beloved pets and possessions. If something is in my care; I look after it.
