SUNSHINE COAST REGION ONLY

We are a Mature Aged Self Employed Couple available as Professional House Sitters/Caretakers of Semi-Rural Residential & Commercial Property, as well as Caretakers/Relief Managers of B&B/Boutique Resorts & Small Businesses - within the Sunshine Coast Region (SC). Whilst negotiable and flexible, we do prefer long term assignments (ie 6-12+ Month), although will consider offers of shorter &/or ongoing arrangements; & can only consider assignments outside SC Region during Semester Breaks, while Annemaree is studying at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Our aim is to assist Property & Business Owners in taking that much needed break &/or to attend to important personal/business matters - until we find our dream property &/or next adventure.

As Business Entrepreneurs with 2 part-time businesses, we do have our own WiFi/Mobile Broadband & mostly work from home. One business is mainly weekend events, the other is our Property Investment & Improvement Brokerage Firm for Property Investors.

By way of our backgrounds...

Chris – The son of Entrepreneurs/Farmer, has had various pets over the years. Ex-military, ex-corporate, ex-Victoria, Chris moved to SC in 2004 & has worked with numerous start-up & small business owners to: nurture their existing & new clientele; develop their operations; &/or recruit & train their local/national sales teams. He’s also a qualified Landscaper & experienced Handyman (especially for those things that require a ‘creative’ solution), loves to be busy working or tinkering, & has developed an appreciation for quiet semi/rural acreage living.

Annemaree - Grew up in Brisbane suburbia in a large family with a variety of birds, chooks & dogs, lived on a Great Barrier Reef Island, & travelled & lived abroad & in Sydney. Ex-corporate, I have coached, educated & consulted sme/start-up Owners & Leaders & redeveloped their businesses, products/services & their teams, and am currently undertaking a bachelor in Property Economics & Development at SCU to better assist older investors in achieving their desired retirement lifestyle via property redevelopment. I moved back to the SC at the end of 2006 & developed an appreciation for mother-nature, quiet semi/rural living & a minimalistic lifestyle.

Chris & I have lived on acreage and (ride-on) mowed it, dealt with pumps, rain water tanks & septic systems, raised puppies, kittens, chickens, & lovingly cared for chooks, birds, dogs, cats, fish, cows, sheep, goats, horses, & even a donkey or two! Note: Whilst I am allergic to cats, I have lived with them, fed & cleaned up after them, although I do need to keep a healthy distance - which isn't always easy as they generally attempt to befriend me with some rather amusing and endearing antics.

And whilst Chris & I prefer long term House Sitting/Caretaking or Relief Management assignments without the added responsibility of pets and animals - if you’re after professional carers who will 'maintain' your property as you ‘do’ and/or providing your pets are independent/outdoor adventurers - we’ll all get on just fine.

We can pretty much handle anything to do with urban/rural property, small/medium businesses, small/medium pets & farm animals. We are both house & garden proud, pretty fit, non-smokers, enjoy a healthy quiet lifestyle preferably with organic or spray-free backyard produce & maybe a glass of wine once in a blue moon.

So rest assured, we will respect your home & neighbours as we would our own.

Since we sold our Mooloolah home in May 2014, we have been:
♣ Caretakers/assisted a retired couple with their 13Ha property (previously 5 Star B&B) in Bald Knob for 5.5Months until sold - house sitting when they ventured away;
♣ Entrusted with a family's new Caloundra home & pool for the school holidays;
♣ Looked after a retired couple’s Sandstone Point home for 2Months while they toured Australia;
♣ Caretakers of a 8Ha Landsborough Horse Property with 4Horses+1Donkey (3Agisted) + 1Cat for 3Months while the retired owners visited NZ family;
♣ Looked after a Palmwoods home +2Dachshunds+1Cat while owners travelled interstate & abroad (Twice);
♣ Looked after a Beerwah home + a Cocker Spaniel for 4Months while retired owners travelled Australia;
♣ Looked after a Pelican Waters home for 18Months while the Family (Tenants) took an extended European Business/Family trip;
♣ Looked after a 1.6Ha Mapleton property + 2Papillions(small dogs)+4Chooks+2Goldfish for 1Month while owners travelled overseas;
♣ Caretakers of a 2Ha Palmwoods property + 1BorderCollie+6Chooks+Orchard for 2.5Months while Retired Owners travelled overseas;
♣ Caretakers of a 1Ha Tinbeerwah property for SME Owners; completed renovations of Granny Flat, Business Carports/Cleaning Bay & House; plus cleaned & refuelled Car Fleet; & Pet Sit 1 (very old) Great Dane whilst they took a Holiday; &
♣ Caretakers & House Sitters of a 20Ha Property & Home (for a now friend) in North Maleny (who has had us stay between House Sits & Caretaking Assignments); and
♣ House Sitting a 1.2Ha Ninderry property for the FIFO Owner (Multiple).

We have great character, business & house sitting references, plus police clearances - available on request - although we will bring these with us when we meet to discuss your assignment in detail. Yes, we prefer to meet you at your property prior to commencing your assignment, so you can ask whatever questions you feel relevant to us sitting for you, & we can get a better understanding of your property/home/ business requirements!

You will be pleased to know that our House Sitting & Caretaking Services are held in high regard & demand - due to our high standards, diligence & flexibility! And that our ‘Standard’ Professional House Sitting Services are FREE OF CHARGE in exchange for exclusive use of your home & utilities.
Note: ‘Standard’ = General day-to-day care of your (low maintenance) home on up to 0.4Ha/1Acre of an Urban or Semi-Rural Residential or Commercial Property, & includes Whipper-Snippering & Ride-On Mowing of lawns, &/or watering/maintaining low-maintenance gardens or ‘household’ potted plants.

And yes we are also open & negotiable to Caretaking/Sitting small to medium Pets, Farm Animals, plus Ride-On Mowing &/or Slashing of acreage; & especially Residential or Commercial Property Renovation, Landscaping & Building Maintenance; as well as Caretaking & Relief Management of Medium to Large Semi/Rural Residential or Commercial Properties, Bed & Breakfast Homes/Businesses, Boutique Resorts, & Small to Medium Businesses.

If your property is within 30+/- Minutes of the University of the Sunshine Coast, and we are available, we will consider your assignment. Just ensure you advise any specific requirements when making contact & we will give you an estimate of any applicable fees when we confirm our availability. All of which we will be happy to discuss, negotiate and/or confirm when we meet you at your property prior to commencement.

We will also provide a copy of our House Sit/Caretaker Agreement which we can complete together if necessary. From our experience, we've found being upfront makes all the difference… With 4+ years of experience as Professional House Sitters, Caretakers & Relief Managers, one of our key learnings has been that when our Hosts are open, honest & upfront with us from the outset, we are all a lot happier, comfortable & confident with our arrangement & outcomes! This in itself means the world to our Hosts, especially when most travel far & wide - leaving their most prized assets & belongings in our care!
