More information about this house sitter

We are a friendly non-smoking couple in our 30's who came to Australia about 10 years ago from Canada and Germany, and live here as permanent residents. We are both professional scientists: I (Michelle) am an agricultural researcher at a private company (think Bernadette in The Big Bang Theory) and Thomas is an experimental physicist at a university (think Leonard in The Big Bang Theory). Thomas is very handy around the house and can fix things should it be required. As a plant scientist, I’ll make sure your plants and garden will be looked after if needed. We are using housesitting as a way for us to save up for a house deposit. We are very reliable and responsible, so be rest assured your place and your pets will be in good hands.

We are both animal lovers and enjoy having pets! We have plenty of experience primarily looking after dogs (large and small) and cats, as well as birds, fish, chickens, and reptiles. Additionally, we are trained experienced foster carers through the Cat Protection Society of NSW. We have been house and pet sitting full-time for nearly two years, having had both short (weekends) and long (~6 month) stays. We know how to maintain a place and keep it clean and tidy, and strive to leave your home in the same condition we found it, if not better.

Being a couple gives us the flexibility to assure that someone will always be there to care for your pets. Occasionally, unexpected things come up where you may need to be away from the house for a while, and sometimes housesitting jobs overlap by a day or two. Life happens, as I'm sure you know. As a couple, we can assure you that your pets will get the level of care we promised, no matter what.

We approach all jobs with honesty and integrity and will work with you to ensure that we meet the needs of your household while you are away. We are communicative and will provide you with regular updates so you can vacation worry-free.

We have references across several housesitting platforms and can provide them if needed. Police checks are also available upon request. Read more...
