I'm housesitting as it allows me to affordably live on my own and have the company of animals plus I get to contribute to others through giving you security for your house and love and companionship for your pets and they get to stay home while you are way.
I am fit and healthy, I do not smoke, seldom drink alcohol, and will not be having social gatherings at your place - I tend to go and visit people rather than they come to me.
I love having animals around – they are great company and apparently I am great company for them to – I have met very few cats or dogs that aren’t friendly towards me.
I like to meet you before you go away as I want to know how you look after your house and pets because I will look after you animals like you do. I feed them the same way you do, I walk them as much like you do as possible (Taking dogs for walks is always a good excuse to take a break and get some good exercise) and they get to sleep in their usual place as well – be that on the bed I am sleeping in or on their own bed or outside. If it is needed I am also very happy to give them any drugs they need whether that be tablets or injection - and they will be given just the way you want them given. As I work and study from ‘home’ I can be 'home' a lot if your pets require that or I can be out and about
I have experience with cats as I grew up with them and I had my own cat for 17 years - you can't really say you own a cat - a beautiful large male tabby who lived a very comfortable life. I have also looked after other people’s cats.
And with dogs - I have helped look after friends and housemates animals over the years as I have travelled around to many places so I have experience with a variety of dogs – Great Dane, Viszla, Collie and Collie cross, Ridgeback Mastif, Retriever cross, Cavoodle, Jack Russell and other more mixed dogs, - so any size is fine.
I have also looked after budgies, fishes, pet mice, rabbits and hamsters over the years
I will take care of your home as if it is my own precious place – and will leave your home in much the same way as I found it or maybe cleaner so that you come home to what you like and slip back in to your ways.
Since I work and study from 'home' I can move around happily and easily and happily adapt to my environment – I have house/pet sat in Coburg, Reservoir, North Fitzroy and North Frankston, Whittlesea, Phillip Island, Cranbourne, Carlton North, Rosanna....
Much as I prefer to have a long block of time short stays are fine too.
While you are away I am very happy to keep you updated with emails and/or text messages if you like - I use Whatsapp for my overseas messaging, or I can phone you.
