I am an independent person who enjoys discovering new places to experience and explore. Between December 2019 last year and up to 25 March 2020 when the pandemic really hit and the borders closed, I had three house sits in Southern Queensland and two in the Hunter Valley NSW. All of these required caring for animals, always a dog (or three), cats (or eight) and on the rural properties, chooks, goats, a Dorper sheep and even a rat (quite cute really). I enjoyed all.

I chose to return to my family in North Queensland until people felt safe travelling at least within their own state and needed someone to care for their house and pets. In early November 2020 I began house sitting again in Hervey Bay, the first since March 2020. following from there I cared for a house and beautiful shy cat on acreage near Grafton. Then to East Maitland (two magnificent Rag Doll cats) to bring in the new year. Another small acreage with a Border Terrier, 5 chooks and two horses in a house nestled in Wakefield. At the moment I am high up with a magnificent view of wide blue water in a house and one dog/two cats to care for.

I have worked and studied all my life, most recently as proprietor of successful second hand bookshops, fulfilling a dream I held since learning how to read!

I was the cat lover of the family but I enjoy and learn from the different talents and quirks of all animals. I grew up in the country amongst both domestic and wild animals and respected them and their right to life.

My main exercise comes from bush and beach walking and exploring cities on foot. I love both the sound of silence in the countryside and the breathing of history in a city.
