Hello,
We are a family of four on an extended trip around Australia.
We have our own motorhome which is fully self-contained, as such, we would not actually need to have access to the inside of your home, unless required for pets. Our preference is actually to stay in our own motorhome, as it is fitted out to suit our needs. We even have our own power so the only real necessity would be water if we were staying for over a week. And obviously a suitable place to park it.
I have had previous experience house sitting in the past, once on a 100 acre bush property for 6 months and another semi-rural 5 acre property for 12 months, more recent, we have completed a 3 week house sitting job in Carnarvon, WA.
We own our own rural property of 1.5 acres, so we are well aware of house and yard maintenance issues.
On our property we had six chickens that we looked after, and the children loved them. We have had dogs in the past, but not recently due to our travel plans, however we do understand both the physical and emotional needs of pets.
We are both in our 40’s and have two children aged 6 & 10 years.
Michelle is a devoted mother and loves all things organic. After spending 17 years managing in the hospitality industry, it was time for a change and motherhood. We spent many years renovating houses, and then changing our lifestyle to become as self-sufficient and organic as possible.
Jade is a 10 year old who loves nature and just having fun. She is a very caring girl and loves learning new things.
Henry is 6 and a wise little man for his age. One of those types that have been here before. He is a gentle little sole, but still has enough little boy left in him to make him a tonne of fun.
Both the kids love nature and getting in amongst it. They love animals, tentatively a first, but once acquainted become quite attached. They are great kids and the benefits of being with them 24/7 on this trip are evident every day. They are confident and courteous children and very respectful of others. A quality we have strived to instil in them
I am a former Police officer, come renovator/handyman/cabinet maker, with a wide variety of skills ranging from office skills to hands on practical skills.
As a family we value our time together, and having young children we do not venture out often at night. This would ensure we are at your property each night. We home school our daughter so would be home most mornings.
Should you consider us for this position, we could assure you we would look after your home and pets as if they were our own, and respect your wishes. We would be happy to supply you with full access to our travelling blog so that you can get an honest and inside view into our family and what we are like.
