More information about this house sitter

We love to travel, go bush walking and we are just getting in to mountain bike riding. Rob is an avid reader and loves to travel to unusual places! Karin loves gardening and sewing.

Rob and I are very domesticated! We love to do DIY projects and have done a lot of garden make overs (with permission!) at the rentals we have had over the past 6 years together. We can fix taps, blocked drains, clean filters, problem shoot reticulation problems, replace fly screens etc.! We know how to prepare for QLD storms and clean up afterwards and we have a ute to remove garden waste if needed. We both like to keep our home clean and tidy.

We have looked after the following pets: guinea pigs, rabbits, cats, chickens, hermit crabs...!

We had to move out of our accommodation recently because of a mould problem! Not surprising for Queensland! As we plan to move interstate next January, we are reluctant to sign another lease. We also thought house sitting might be a good idea as we tend to move a lot depending on where we are sent for work. Most of the hospitals that we are sent to are on the south side of Brisbane. We have been house sitting now for a few weeks and are finding it is working out well.

Our ideal housesit would be in the inner south of Brisbane. We would love to look after a house with a garden (and chooks!), as Karin loves veggie gardening and we have previously had chickens. It would not be seen as a hassle by us to have to water plants daily.

We do have two burmese cats who travel with us. They are indoor cats, so we are looking for house sit opportunities without other indoor cats. We are very realistic about the practicalities of having cats. To minimise any concern potential housesitters may have we do take extra precautions to make sure nothing is damaged by our cats and would guarantee replacing or repairing anything that was damaged by them. If you have any fabric furnishings, like couches, we will cover them with our own couch protectors. Any precious delicate items like vases that might be tipped over will be carefully packaged and stored. Read more...
