Hi! I’m Paige, like in a book, but with an ‘i’ in the middle. So not really like in a book at all.

Because the needs of every house sitter is different, the below information has been crafted to give you a clear idea of whether or not I would be the right fit for you.

→ Lifetime of Experience with Animals
I was raised with the chooks and goats that provided us with eggs and milk. We also had cats and dogs at different times when I was a child. In my teens I looked after an albino rat. As an adult I’ve looked after a goat, fish, birds, dogs and cats.

→ Treatment of Animals and Property
Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of looking after many homes and pets for friends and family. The feedback I receive is always very positive with regard to keeping things clean and tidy, and ensuring plants thrive. I treat people’s pets respectfully, taking on both the requests of the owners, and paying careful attention to the behaviour of each pet as I interact with them.

→ Why Am I House Sitting?
The first time I got a taste for house-sitting was after the 2011 floods displaced me and forced me out of my comfort zone. This time I’m doing it because I’ve chosen to, in an effort to level my debts and save for a home.

→ What Am I Like Professionally?
For work I combine my two greatest passions of Medicine and Education by coordinating hospital-based teaching for medical students. This is a full-time position. I’m also involved with a volunteer organisation that assists marginalised young professionals navigate the early stages of their careers through a mentoring program.

→ You Might Also Like To Know
I don’t drink or smoke, and I try to minimise my negative impact on the environment. Reading and wandering along the river are two things I do a lot of in my free time (often with someone’s pets). It’s not a lifestyle for everyone my age, but it works well for me!
