Hi! We're Mel and Nick, avid animal (and people) lovers.

We're housesitting as a way of saving some extra money to buy our first home. Being able to enjoy gardens and pets is a bonus of housesitting as we're unable to have either by renting apartments! We both grew up in rural areas, surrounded by animals for the first halves of our lives. We miss having pets and truly love looking after other people's animal friends.

PET CARE

We began pet sitting organically, through friends mentioning to other friends (and friends of friends) they knew some animal lovers who would be happy to provide love and care for their precious pet/s while they were away.

You can relax, knowing your fur baby is receiving as much love and attention during our stay with them, as they receive from you. We conscientiously follow any instructions you have regarding pet care. We've recently cared for Gilbert and Floyd (gorgeous adult Golden Retrievers), Olive (a young ginger cat), Teddy (a two month old puppy), Pierre (a curious grey cat), Dutch (a loving Bernese Mountain dog), Maggie (a sweet Labradoodle), Snapple and Jonesy (cheeky cats), Indie and Storm (energetic Staffie puppies)... We're happy to provide any pet sitting references you require.

HOME SECURITY & MAINTENANCE

We are both clean, very tidy, honest and respectful (and non-smokers). We've rented properties for the past 13 years, have impeccable rental records throughout that entire time, and are very particular about keeping a home neat and tidy.

We can both provide current National Police Checks (March 2017).

We're both environmentally aware, and conserve energy and water as much as possible.

References available, and of course we can both provide you with identification and our Police Checks. We're also happy to pay a security deposit/bond, if that will give you greater peace of mind. We understand your need to have responsible, caring people in control while you're away, so please rest assured that your property will be well cared for by us.

ABOUT US

Nick works for a not-for-profit based in South Melbourne. He's passionate about music, and plays keyboard in several bands. He also volunteers at a community legal centre, and dabbles in craft beer brewing.

My passions are nutrition, holistic living, and dance. I work casually in a yoga studio in the CBD, as well as irregularly doing things such as face painting, teaching meditation, and performing with a Bollywood dance troupe. My flexible work schedule means I can make myself available to provide the care and attention your pet and home requires.

We're happy to Skype with you or chat on the phone to answer any questions we haven't covered here. When we're on a house sit, we'll provide you with whatever updates give you peace of mind. We can easily text/email photos or phone as often as you'd like.
