Hello! Our names are Michaela and Bruce.

We are currently available for house sitting in the South Eastern QLD area. We will however consider opportunities outside this region, esp during school holidays.

Michaela is a secondary Teacher at a small private school at Kooralbyn.

Bruce is a publisher (of the famous eco-spiritual books known as the Ringing Cedars Series), and spends most of his time at home - which is great if you have animals that like company.

We are a non-smoking, reliable and tidy couple, who appreciate the opportunity to look after homes for owners who take pride in their living space and want it treated with care and respect.

We presently have no pets of our own.

If you need someone to care for your home and animals next time you are away, we will give you peace of mind while on your travels, with weekly updates via email and immediate notice of any unexpected eventuality that may need your input.

We will keep your indoor and outdoor plants alive, clear your mailbox, put out your garbage and recyclables - and keep your property looking tidy and "occupied".

We bring a variety of skills and experiences with us;
Michaela grew up with many pets; dogs, cats, homing pigeons, turtles, and used to ride horses during her teenage years. She has also looked fish, chickens & goats, plus grew up with big veggie gardens and has had many of her own over the years. Having a bit of a green thumb, Michaela's interests have extended also into permaculture design.

Bruce is very skilled across many trades and has done 3 month house/pet sits in the USA where he lived for 10 years . Most recently he has lived the past 3 years on a Wildlife Refuge in NSW, with experience with property maintenance, animal care, ride-on mowing and chainsaw work.

We are very happy to supply references (names and numbers of people who can verify their experience with us), as we are new to this site and have only sat two properties through Aussie-House Sitters so far.

Rating: 5.0: This was our first time using a house sitter and we were privileged to have Bruce and Michaela look after ours. They kept us informed of any news, sent us footage of the garden's progress and of Misty, the cat, delighted with her stand-in family. The kids loved seeing how happy she was. Any issues were efficiently resolved and we returned to a spotless, fully functioning household. It truly enhanced our holiday enjoyment knowing the house, garden and cat were all being very much cared for. I can thoroughly recommend Bruce and Michaela, knowing they will do a superb job of looking after your house, garden and pet. Thank you both. Bruce and Michaela were fantastic sitters, and we'd be delighted to have them back anytime. They were incredibly responsive online/via text and very conscientious in meeting up in advance to ensure that we felt comfortable with them. It was such a relief to know that our home was being cared for while we were overseas, and a delightful surprise to return to a garden that was healthier than when we left and a home that was cleaner too! Our cat Pickle took to Bruce immediately and was very relaxed when we returned - so much better than boarding him for three weeks! "Michaela & Bruce looked after our house & Irish Setter for five & a half weeks in June/July 2019. We came home to a clean house & a very contented & well-groomed dog. Whilst we were away they kept us updated on a weekly basis by email & sms. They also sent photos & videos. This gave us peace of mind & meant we were able to relax during our holiday knowing that everything at home was in order. Our Setter needs a lot of grooming, affection & exercise & he received all of this in abundance whilst we were away. We were very fortunate to have found Michaela & Bruce."
