About this house sitting position in Canterbury

Hi there, we are looking for a live in sitter for our 3.5 year old doggo Louie who is a German Pinscher while we are away overseas.

Dates: 14 August – 27 Aug 2025

We have a clean 2 bedroom plus separate study and workshop single level home in Canterbury NSW. Full kitchen with separate dining and living room, one full bathroom with second toilet in the laundry. Large entertaining patio with chiminea off the dining room with a large backyard. Aircon in main bedroom and dining room.

What we need:
- Dog fed twice daily (raw meat diet provided, must be ok handling this type of food)
-Dog walked once per day, for a minimum 30 mins. Ideally 60 minutes.
- Dog to sleep with you in the bedroom (on or off bed, but he really does love a cuddle)
- House kept neat and tidy
-Water plants

About Louie:
Louie is a 3 year old German Pinscher who we have raised from 8 weeks old. He is a highly intelligent dog who loves nothing more than a good game of tug, fetch with his toy of choice, and walks around the streets and parks. Once his needs are met (fed and exercised) Louie will happily snuggle and sleep for hours on end. Louie is highly driven by food and toys which is excellent for those times he needs firm instruction! Grab the treat pouch out and he will do anything asked of him.

When walking with Louie we often take the long leash to give him more freedom to explore. We always take the treat pouch and do basic training during the walks (EG recall him, have him practice sit, drop, spins and other fun tricks). Please do not let Louie off leash, although he loves other dogs he can quickly become over stimulated and has trouble reading other dogs body language. Louie absolutely LOVES going for hikes, so if you're up for it feel free to get outside and explore with him!

Louie suits those who have experience with higher energy breeds, and are active to keep up with our at times boisterous Louie. We have a huge park down the road from ours so the walking part is pretty convenient. Its important we get daily updates and photos whilst we are away.

Local bus stops are within walking distance, and nearest train station is a 3 min drive away. The house has driveway parking and ample street parking.

Applicants will need to provide references and a police check. No smoking indoors, outdoors is fine. Preference is for a couple, or a single minder who either works from home or has some kind of hybrid flexibility.
