About this house sitting position in Forest Range

Our small farm property is in a beautiful part of the Adelaide Hills, but only 29km from the CBD. Bingley, our Airedale dog also calls our little bit of paradise home. Bingley is 4 years old, looks like a big cuddly teddy bear and is full of beans and mischief- he's very energetic and attention seeking, so needs somebody who has time to supervise and let him expend his energy on our 20 acre property.
There are about 30 chooks in 4 pens in a large enclosure who pretty much take care of themselves- but need their water and feed replenishing daily.
There are 18 sheep happily grazing their hillside paddock or in the orchards who don't need much attention other than an occasional head count.
Our home is a renovated 100 year + Federation style house with 3 bedrooms, large farmhouse kitchen, dining room, lounge and study- wi fi available. We have a large deck built under the verandah where you can relax and enjoy the view over the orchard and listen to the birds sing. If you love nature and a peaceful setting, whilst still being a short drive from the bustle of the city when you need it, then you will enjoy our home.
Our home is centrally heated by a wood burning stove connected to radiators in each room. We will leave plenty of firewood to keep it fuelled.
We have a large garden and numerous pot plants that may need checking and watering as needed, depending on the weather. Our water supply is from a spring at the lowest part of our property which is pumped up to a large tank at the highest part of our property, then gravity fed to the house. We will leave the tank full, but depending on your water use during your stay, you may need to turn on the spring pump to replenish the tank. We will show you how everything works, but we do need somebody who is fairly fit and has the stamina to walk up and down hills to check water supply, check sheep and supervise a very energetic dog. Gumboots or farm boots are recommended - this is not a house sit suited to high heels!

“We loved our stay at Sally's farm-it is truly a little slice of heaven in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Bingley was a joy and delight, so gentle and easy to look after and always excited to see us come home. The chooks supplied us with endless eggs, and we enjoyed the variety, both in eggs and chickens, and counting the sheep became our evening exercise regime. Sally's house is defintely a home, lovingly added to over the years, filled with treasures and lovely surprises around every corner, all of which add to the charm and character of the farmhouse. Would highly recommend the experience, but do pack your gumboots! ”
