About this house sitting position in North Plympton

We’re heading away for two weeks and are looking for a highly experienced and confident dog sitter (individual or couple preferred) to stay in our cosy 3-bedroom home in North Plympton. We’re just 5km from the Adelaide CBD and 10 minutes to the beach, with a tram stop a short 10-minute walk away that takes you directly to both.

You’ll be looking after Sami – our beautiful 18-month-old Border Collie. He’s still very much a puppy at heart but big for his breed. Sami needs two walks a day (morning and evening), and someone who truly understands dogs, especially anxious ones.

Sami is a sweetheart once he gets to know you, but he’s highly anxious and takes time to warm up to new people. He needs a calm, confident handler – someone who knows how to be the alpha and can gently but firmly guide him. He walks well on the lead but can be reactive, so walks can be an adventure. His bark is loud, and he can be a bit intimidating if you’re not used to dogs, so this role is best suited to someone with experience handling similar breeds or high-anxiety dogs.

At home, he’s an affectionate and loving companion – he just needs the right person to make him feel safe.
