***we are a family of 3 and we offer responsible long-term house-sitting and gentle, not-dominating pet-sitting, preferably in Perth, WA, but open to any location that's close to a city.**

Pictures and more information are available through chats and phone, but we don't post them online as we value privacy of both us and the homes and pets we care for.

Hello! We are a family of three from Germany with two adults and a seven-year-old who loves to care for animals and has boundless affection, attention and patience for their needs.

We favor non-dominating approaches and have excellent experience with problem-solving gently around various needs.

**Important:**
We are currently back in Germany, so we would not be able to meet you during the decision-making period. We understand that this makes the process tricky. We are happy to meet online, answer all questions and provide you with references, both in Germany and in Perth, where we cared for one highly allergic staffy and two anxious cats for 3,5 months last year.

Due to the current rental market, it's as important to us as it is likely for you that, once we come to an agreement, we can each fully rely and uphold it. We are happy to invest careful time into the getting-to-know-each-other process and answer all questions, as well as ask you ones.

We can arrive a few days before your departure for best hand-over. We have traveled a lot over the past three years and are experienced in living in and taking care of other people's homes.
We are happy to provide fair assurances to help alleviate concerns over entrusting your home and loved pets to us.

We can contribute towards cost of utilities, will care for gardens and plants, run errands, buy specialized pet foods, and are fortunate to have a network of local friends in Perth with contacts to services and resources should additional needs come up during your stay away.

We find that maintaining good communication during your stay can be helpful and are more than willing to contribute to that.

**What and When**

We are looking for longer house-sitting and pet-sitting arrangements, not least because we tend to form bonds with the pets we care for and enjoy having time with them. Our preference is Perth, WA, as this is where we already have friends and community, but we are open to other locations as long as they are somewhat close to a larger city.

Anxious pets with allergies and medical needs (especially dogs, such as staffies) are very welcome as long as they generally feel safe around young children.

We require accommodation with access to WIFI for research and distance-teaching commitments at this time.

**What our offer of responsive and gentle care work includes**

We will care responsibly for your house, garden and pets in such a manner that you find them in the same conditions you left.

Our 7 year old loves pets, especially dogs and cats, and dreams of having a sanctuary for animals some day. He grew up considering animals as separate persons with their own personalities, nervous system responses and boundaries.
He also loves vegetable gardens and watering plants.

We hope to move countries and have our own cat and dog someday soon. Until then, we love pet-sitting.

Our approach is non-dominating, responsive and gentle. We enjoy gently working out what our entrusted friends need to feel safe, gain trust and have their needs met, and we prefer to look for what might be behind any 'challenging behavior' and problem-solve around that.

This not only feels best to us, but has also helped anxious and 'difficult' pets gain trust and a sense of safety quickly with us.

In Germany, we currently 'dog-share' and regularly look after two elderly dogs (one is deaf, has injuries and wears a diaper at home). We've also had them with us over new year's eve and gently supported them through intense anxiety and distress over the sounds of fireworks (here, residents can launch them, so they go off for hours).

In Perth, the staffy we cared for was previously abandoned and consequently used to bark at everyone and have immense socializing difficulties.
Their owners would be happy to give you references for us and chat with you.

**Additional information about us**

We don't smoke or consume recreational drugs, we eat plant-based foods, use allergy-sensitive cleaning products (that we'll bring with us) and have some insight into allergies of different physiologies (humans and some animals).

The adults among us are educators/coaches/therapists/researchers, one of us in the position of a governmental clerk in Germany, where we usually live.

We have friends and community in Perth and have quiet routines during our travels. We usually spend our at least our mornings and evenings at home. Outside of that, we enjoy meeting up with friends, going swimming, to parks and do other sports activities.
