More information about this house sitter

My name is Marianne, I am relocating to Sydney and starting a new job on June 4. I'll be going in to a senior role in a government department. I'm currently looking for a place to rent, however thought house sitting might be a good option whilst I look. A bit about me - I have 2 grown up kids, who will stay in Victoria, a delightful husband who will relocate with me at some stage and two gorgeous cats - one very large black cat (Lucius) who was a RSPCA rescue some years ago and a 5 year old rag doll (Mr Meowgi). We did have a little dog for many years, but sadly he was old and it was his time to go. We have not got another dog, 'cause it's still just a bit soon.

In terms of how I live - well, my own mother describes me as house proud and I do like to keep things in order. I'm sociable, but no party animal and have a good network in Sydney so am likely to go out and socialise rather than do so at home. I'm studying at the moment - a double masters - so to be honest I'll probably be home wth my head down quite a bit.
For the first few days / weeks I had planned to airbnb - which I can do prior to sitting your place (if that's a thing we end up doing).

We live on a 4 acre property in Castlemaine, Victoria with substantial gardens and veggie patches, as well as native bush. We have resident kangaroos, a black tailed wallaby and many, many possums who are very assertive.

I have not done house sitting before, but I had a rented property in Melbourne as commuting did not suit the demands of my job at the time. I have recently been in contact with the estate agent to ask if she would be comfortable to provide a reference and her response was 'just pop down my name and office number and I am happy to provide a great reference'. I'm a very organised person, people always make fun of me saying 'the house is a MESS' because there are 4 dishes on the sink and, when I would ask my kids to clean their rooms they would ask - 'is that our standard of clean, normal standard of clean or Mama standard of clean?'

Let me know if there is any other information you would like. I'm heading to Italy on Monday, get back on June 1 and start the new job on June 4. I will have my laptop with me (studying never stops!!) so can be contacted pretty much any time. If you would like to meet before you make a decision I will be in Sydney from June 3, but recognise you may have other contenders that you can get sorted sooner.

Either way, I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers
Marianne
