About this house sitting position in Ashgrove

We are looking for an experienced pet and house sitting person or couple who meet the following diverse requirements:

- looking after two Russian Blue cats who spend most of their time indoors and love company.
Both cats are very affectionate and are used to having someone home most of the day.

- looking after Storm our nearly 2 year old old kelpie. Being a working breed, Storm is active and needs to be walked and run twice a day for about an hour each time. We have a great park across the road where he is used to going and meeting up with many other locals and their dogs. There are also lots of walking tracks - bush and paved - to walk or cycle around.
Apart from his exercise requirements, Storm is an easy and affectionate companion. He is also very smart so is best with someone who has experience with working dogs.

The house is a family home in Ashgrove, only 4 kms from the city centre: 3 bedroom 2 bathroom with freshwater inground swimming pool. The house is opposite the Banks Street Reserve which features 80 acres of natural bush with creeks and walking tracks throughout. There are other large parks and cycle paths nearby. It is a very quiet neighbourhood with cafes, supermarkets and public transport all within walking distance.

We would like a house and pet sitter who is happy to spend a lot of time at home most days.

The freshwater pool has an automatic filter etc and should not require any maintenance while we are away. The garden will require some watering depending on rainfall. Pot plants will need to be watered and fish fed!

We have three other holidays planned throughout 2020 and January 2021. As well as this post I have put up a separate post for another trip in June/July. Ideally we'd like the same pet sitter for all our holidays so if you are interested please let me know.

“It has been an absolute delight & pleasure to house-sit for Megan & Geoff on four separate occasions over a period of two years. We received a warm welcoming orientation, with clear written instructions. The pets, house & garden have been all been very straight forward & enjoyable to manage. Storm, their Kelpie has matured from an energetic puppy to a delightful mannerly dog that we enjoy walking. The two cats are fun & will have a cuddle or sleep near you when they choose. The house is lovely and situated in a fabulous location overlooking parkland with tracks. Megan & Geoff have made us feel extremely welcome & appreciated. “Dear Megan & Geoff Thank you for the opportunity to house/pet sit PK & Tinks (cats) & Storm (dog) and the fish. The family is very welcoming, communication is excellent, the house/pet guide is easy to follow instructions, their home is very comfortable. The park to take Storm for his daily exercise has awesome people who are sociable, with friendly pets. PK & Tinks are good-natured, cuddly, and affectionate. The aquarium has amazingly beautiful fish. The area is safe and there is a mulberry tree that provided a nice yummy fruit for brekky! I thoroughly enjoyed this sit.
