About this house sitting position in Cairns North

We're looking for a house/dog/garden sitter over the Christmas period.

We have two dogs. One large Maremma and one medium bitsa. Both easy care e.g. taken for a walk every second day, can be left alone for a maximum of 10 hours, in good health, no special dietary requirements. They spend a lot of time indoors under the aircon during summer!

The garden is also easy care e.g. no weeding, the occasional mow, watering pot plants, turning the watering system on if there hasn't been rain.

We're located in Cairns North:
- 4km from the town centre
- 1km from the Cairns Botanic Gardens, Tanks Arts Centre, and the Red/Yellow/Blue/Green Arrow rainforest walking tracks.
- 8km from the nearest beach
- 500m from Tobruk Memorial Pool
- 18km from Crystal Cascades

We live in a Queenslander, in a quiet street, with tropical gardens and vegetable gardens. We have a lovely fully self-contained flat downstairs that you can stay in. There are bicycles and helmets available for use.

Note; it is hot and humid up here over summer! So please keep that in mind before you make contact to express interest. The flat is air-conditioned (one unit in the main living area and one in the bedroom) and we have solar power so we won't put limits on the time that you can run it.

The flat is currently empty so you're welcome to come earlier if you like, though there would be a weekly rental charge of $300 (all bills included) up until we leave on December 21st.

No children sorry. Our dogs aren't used to having children around much and we're not sure how they will respond to them being around 24/7.

No other pets either sorry. Maremma dogs are territorial guard dogs and our other dog is a rescue who is wary around other dogs. Read more...
