About this house sitting position in Chudleigh

My house is an old jehovah witness hall in a quiet little village. It’s brick and built in 1969.

I don’t have pets but I live right next door to my sister and her family who have a lovely old three-legged dog who often visits me. Patsy dog sometimes stays for a whole day if my sister and her family are all out working. So that would great if she could hang around with you just some days if you will be home. They also have lots of chickens, ducks, sheep, alpacas. Occasionally, they might go camping so if it was alright, I might ask if you wouldnt mind feeding the chicks and ducks then. (but that doesnt happen often)

I am on a 1 acre block and have been making lots of veggie beds since I moved there five years ago. There is a huge studio space in the shed which is great for yoga, dancing, art projects, etc. (The photo is of the studio space. I will put up more photos soon.)

I would like house sitters who are interested in the garden. There are lots of simple things to be done including mowing the lawn, mulching beds, collecting autumn leaves from the park down the road, picking walnuts off the ground, chopping fire wood, collecting kindling, watering in summer. Also, keeping the house clean - dusting, vacuuming, watering indoor plants. If you’re a bit handy (not essential), a small room off the kitchen which I use as a pantry needs to be painted, and new shelving put up on the walls… That’s a bit of a job but could suit someone who stays for a few weeks.

There are wood heaters in the house and the in the studio. There is a small heater to warm the bedroom in winter if necessary.

There is only a bus a day from Chudleigh to Deloraine then Launceston. It would much easier if you have a car - 12mins to Deloraine,, 45mins to Devonport or Launceston.

It’s a very short drive to lots of amazing bushwalks. I can give you more information about that if you like.

Things that you might not like:
- I don’t have a washing machine
- in the winter there are some mice in the kitchen! I cant block all the holes. I always keep food locked away and it is essential to clean up the kitchen every night.
