About this house sitting position in Forth
Vegetarian or plant-based (eating) house sitter wanted for our lovely dog and our comfortable, clean and renovated Federation cottage. Our boy is a mastiff x and a very easy dog to manage. He is a pleasure to handle in every way and a dear chap.
We have a large organic garden and fabulous views. This sit offers ideal conditions for a sitter seeking peace and quiet but not isolation. The cottage is walking distance to the local shop/petrol station, cafe, pub, buses and river. (We don't have a television because we do everything online, (so we have excellent internet,) and we're just too busy living our lives and managing our huge garden among other things.)
Devonport city is where the Spirit of Tasmania comes into port, and where there is also an airport, main shopping centres etc.
(Our past sitters have all been very comfortable here. We've had a writer who needed a quiet space, an editor who works from her computer, an artist who needed to finish off a piece of work for an important art prize, a wonderful dental professional who connected amazingly with our boy, a student needing a serious break and a big rest from her studies... and they've been wonderful, but sadly they are either no longer house sitting or they are solidly booked.)
This is a friendly neighbourhood and community.
(The local pub is about a five minute walk away as is our excellent cafe. They serve wonderful meals. That might make it easier if you aren't eating plant based.)

We would prefer a recent police check and will require 2-3 verifiable references.
There is a good local bus service which will take you to all the surrounding towns and many of the areas if you don't have a car. Read more...
