About this house sitting position in Glenroy
I'm looking for a female housesitter who works from home (or can do) to look after my house and 4 year old, 27kg Staffy-cross-Greyhound (at least that's what we think she is!) while I am away for 4 nights.
My home is a 2 bed, 1 bath unit with unlimited wifi (fine for work and TV streaming but maybe not the bandwidth for gaming), split system air-con/heater, full kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and small & secure backyard.
Car parking is also available opposite the property in a car park with security cameras.
Great neighbours along the drive (7 units in total), and opposite the house, everyone gets on and looks out for each other.
The unit is 200m from Coles, 250m from Glenroy Train station (25 minutes train ride to the city), 4km from Broadmeadows shopping center with Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Various shops, Cinema, Bunnings etc. There are also a couple of cafes and takeaways on the highstreet (250m away) and a decent selection of UberEats restaurants that deliver to the property.
I work from home, so it would be preferable if the sitter did the same, so there was someone with my dog most of the time.
I walk her for around 45-mins to 1hr in a morning (between 9.30-11am) and 20-30minutes in the evening (between 5-6pm) Both are weather dependent - she doesn't like/won't go out in the rain; and we shorten walks if it's above 25oC.
She can be left, and is happy being left in the backyard for a few hours (with an 8-9 hours max).
Other than that she is very much an inside dog, happy to lounge around inside and outside during the day and on her bed in the lounge room at night. And *very* food motivated.
Extra notes:
My dog is a rescue and takes a little time to warm up to men in the house, so why a solo female or a female couple is preferable, to make sure it is an easy/relaxing experience for all; and while she loves other dogs, my unit is quite small and isn't really suitable for more than one animal.
Also, the arrival date is flexible, as I have the second bedroom, sitter(s) can arrive a couple of days early if your schedule requires.
AND: I will also need a sitter for 3-4 weeks in October 2022, so this could be a great test run if you do a lot of sits, but future availability is not a requirement. Read more...
