About this house sitting position in pine creek
Hi,
Welcome to our Home Among the Gum Trees! My name is Nat and my husband's name is Damo. We would love for you to look after our pets, plants and property!
ABOUT OUR PROPERTY:
Enjoy the bird and wildlife whilst staying in our 75-year old 3-bedroom Queenslander situated on 34 acres of bushland. Our property is a great base for exploring all the wonderful things Bundy (20-minute drive), Childers (30 minutes), Bargara (30 minutes), and Hervey Bay (60 minutes) have to offer! This private escape is your ideal base to explore the surrounding regions' attractions such as Mon Repos turtle rookery, whale watching (seasonal), the rum distillery, and ginger beer factory plus access to the southern Great Barrier Reef islands of Lady Elliot and Lady Musgrave islands, mountain bike riding, or perhaps visiting some beautiful beaches (all within a 35-minute drive from us).
Most evenings, kangaroos and wallabies feed on our property. We also have some friendly galahs and lorikeets who come to feed in the mornings and evenings just outside our veranda. Also around 5, you will see a flock of black cockatoos fly over our property and if you are lucky, they sometimes stop and take a rest in our gum trees.
We live in a rural area which means not many neighbours, lots of gum trees and native plants, birds, animals, insects, and a bit of dust every now and again. It is a great location to visit surrounding attractions for the day and then to come home to peace and quiet and enjoy a relaxing meal and a glass of wine on the deck.
ABOUT OUR PETS AND PLANTS:
We have one beautiful dog called Banjo, lots of chickens and 1 alpaca.
Sid, the alpaca, pretty much take care of himself and you will just need to check his water trough and give him some treats 3 times a week. Our chickens will need to have their water and feed topped up as well as their eggs collected daily.
Banjo loves spending time with people. He is fed once a day.
We also have 23 fruit trees, two small herb gardens, and three long hedges that need watering daily (if it doesn't rain) along with some mowing of the property (if it does rain). Most of the watering is irrigated so its just a matter of turning on and off some taps.
Other things you need to know:
- We have a pool, you are welcome to use it if it is hot.
- With 34 acres, we have plenty of onsite parking for cars, trailers, caravans, or campervans.
- Can't be bothered cooking during your stay? For lunch and dinners we recommend the "local", the South Kolan Pub (SKP) (15-minute drive), or Mollydookers, which is a 20-minute drive away from us. The SKP offers free pick up and drop off on Friday nights, just call them to book.
- We don't drink coffee, so if you love your brew first thing in the morning, please BYO. Otherwise sugar and a variety of teas are available.
- Please feel free to eat as many fresh eggs as you like.
You'll love our place because of the location, the wildlife, the views, and the tranquillity.
Thanks for considering staying at our place and helping us out,
Nat and Damo Read more...
