About this house sitting position in Ravenshoe
Ravenshoe is the highest town in Queensland, situated on the Atherton Tableland south of Cairns and up the mountain from the coastal town of Innisfail. The Atherton Tableland is one of Australia's foodbowls, providing easy access to fresh produce. Although located in the tropics, its elevation insures one of the best climates in Australia. Because of it's lush vegetation, abundance of water and volcanic origin, the tableland has many beautiful places to visit within a short distance from Ravenshoe. Innot Hotsprings is just down the road for those who enjoy a hot soak. Although our population is only 2000, we have a golf club, bowls club, art shed, men's shed, writer's group, drama club, music venue, community garden, public library, and many friendly folk willing to welcome newcomers. There is also free wi-fi available in the town centre courtesy of our community bank.
My garden is easy to care for, especially in winter, and I ask my house sitter to familiarise themselves with the plants so that they can be maintained, and please to leave the property in the orderly and appealing state in which I leave it.
My home is a lovely old queenslander that requires little maintainance and I ask that it too be left as it is found..clean and welcoming.
I have no objection to my sitters leaving my home for a few days at a time to explore the beautiful tablelands area, as long as garden care is made a priority.
Because the stay is so long, happens every year, I have no pets, and the duties are light, I ask for $50.00 per week contribution to maintainance and whitegoods costs. I also ask my sitters to pay their own power. Read more...
