Welcome to Opal Cottage—surrounded by gum trees and peaceful gardens while being minutes from the beach and downtown Victor Harbor. We're looking for a companion for our boy Frankie.

Frankie is a gorgeous seven year old staffy who thinks he's a cat and will try to climb on your lap anytime you sit down. :) He loves to lounge around and has two basic modes: lazing about having a snooze or running like an olympian sprinter after his ball at the park. (He does also like a daily walk and behaves well on leash.) He's strong and healthy and obedient—very sweet boy. He can't be left alone for long periods of time, however, because he gets very anxious so we're looking for someone who works remotely or is retired or other circumstance that allows you to spend lots of time with him. (He certainly doesn't need constant engagement, but is used to me working from home.)

We have a lovely four bedroom, two bathroom partially renovated single-level family home with spectacular views over the Hindmarsh reserve and valley. (Bedrooms: one queen and three singles + trundle.) The sunrise from our front veranda is absolutely breathtaking and you will be surrounded by birdsong during your morning coffee. (Three kookaburras also regularly visit our large gum tree and the wood ducks currently have eggs in our nest box so you'll see them frequently, too!) We have wifi, a spa, BBQ, pizza oven, large fully equipped kitchen, comfortable mattresses and bedding, a cozy wood heater and plenty of firewood—everything you need for a wonderful stay on the Fleurieu Coast.

We're located within a two minute walk to the Hindmarsh River and trails, a 10 min walk to the beach or 20 minute walk (or 3 min drive) to downtown Victor Harbor as well as Woolies, cinema, and eateries. Port Elliot is a 10 minute drive and there are two golf courses within 5 minutes. Urimbirra Wildlife Park is also a 5 minute drive away.

Please note, we have a steep gravel driveway so there's plenty of parking but it's not suitable for caravan parking. We do not require any gardening or plant care for this short stay, but you're more than welcome to putter around our cottage garden if you enjoy that sort of thing! Read more...
