About this house sitting position in Weipa
Retired couple offering a mature couple a position to take care of their small motel in Weipa Far North Queensland. Only 10 rooms with no restaurant. Minimal duties but include giving out keys on arrival, cleaning the room once vacated, general maintenance, small lawn mowing [10 mins], and other duties that are required. We will talk more to the details on interview. Very little to do. Hard to say hours per week but 3 hours per day will be usual. Because of the unique nature of the hospitality industry in Weipa we are offering to pay 1 x 40 hour per week or 2 x 20 hour per week remuneration. But 2 persons are required. On top we will supply you with a 2 bedroom caretakers house, fully furnished, with direct access to the swimming pool. It is not suitable for children, but a small dog is allowed in the fenced yard. Ideally we would like permanent caretakers. Minor computer skills needed to take reservations and send reports. Above all the units need to be kept immaculatly clean and you are required to promote the units with your friendly demeanour and efficiencies. Paid training given and the successful applicants are required to start in mid-May. You do not need a 4wd to drive to Weipa in the dry season but if you want to enjoy the wonders of Cape York and it's wilderness and attractions it is necessary to use a 4wd. Weipa is a ten hour drive from Cairns or a 1 hour flight. It has bowls and golf clubs, shopping centre with Woolies etc. and all commercial needs you will require. Single persons should not apply. Weipa is a remote town but still has everything you need; supermarket across the road, brand new gym, great fishing and lots of other activities. If you enjoy a great sunset, Weipa is the place to be.
